Kakita Kensho-in's Trait: Negation

L5R CCG Rules board, 13 September 2009

A topic from AEG's L5R CCG Rules forum, copied for Oracle of the Void from a copy of the forum saved in October 2015, so pages it didn't save are missing. Players' names are left out; the rules officials are named. Rulings are as they stood on these dates; later rulings, the rulebooks and the Rules Archive may differ.

A player, 13 September 2009

Because this is a trait, which is the correct interpretation?

a) She only needs to win a duel once per turn to activate her trait for the rest of the turn; or b) She wins a duel, she can negate the next effect against her, but not another one after that, until she wins another duel.

b) is correct.

The trigger of the trait is the winning of a duel. Its effect creates a single, delayed effect negating the next bowing, moving, or destroying effect. To trigger the trait again, another duel must be won.
