A Noble End and Bowed Personality/Follower

L5R CCG Rules board, 12 March 2009

A topic from AEG's L5R CCG Rules forum, copied for Oracle of the Void from a copy of the forum saved in October 2015, so pages it didn't save are missing. Players' names are left out; the rules officials are named. Rulings are as they stood on these dates; later rulings, the rulebooks and the Rules Archive may differ.

A Noble End Text Battle: Target one of your unbowed Personalities: Target a number of Personalities or Followers opposing him up to his Personal Honor. Destroy each opposing target with 0 Force. Gain 2 Honor for each card destroyed. Give each opposing target still in play -2F.

From rules page: A unit’s Force is the total of the Forces of each unbowed Personality and Follower in the unit, or 0 if all Personalities and Followers in it are bowed.

So my question is, can i use A Noble End on bowed Personalities and Followers thus destroying them since they have 0 Force (I assume i'm meeting the other requirements of A Noble End such as being unbowed and having more than 0 honor)? Makes mass bowing like unfamiliar ground and shuten doji's fury really sexy.

Sorry if this has been asked before but i couldn't find an answer anywhere. Thank you for your time.

(C)an i use A Noble End on bowed Personalities and Followers thus destroying them since they have 0 Force(?)

No.

Bowed Personalities and Followers do not have 0 force. The force of the individual cards does not change due to bowed or unbowed status.

The force of the unit is zero. http://rules.l5r.com/Card_features#Specific_stats: "A bowed card in a unit retains its own Force stat; its own Force is not reduced to zero from being bowed."
