A topic from AEG's L5R CCG Rules forum, copied for Oracle of the Void from a copy of the forum saved in October 2015, so pages it didn't save are missing. Players' names are left out; the rules officials are named. Rulings are as they stood on these dates; later rulings, the rulebooks and the Rules Archive may differ.

I saw a question similar to this, but not as explicit: If someone uses the rulebook effect of buying a personality at full to gain honor, this succeeds past Hidden Scandal's cap (because its a rulebook effect), correct?
Example: Crane gains honor, somehow, during his turn 5 higher than his Hidden Scandal start. He buys Domatai at full. He gains 10 total honor for the turn, correct?

Yes. Though it seems to me that this question is exactly answered here (probably the one referred to): viewtopic.php?f=59&t=66375
