Hi,
If i use Isawa Chishaki's ability to toast himself and whoever... and then target him with Hope From Death, is he able to use this ability again when he is overlaid or is he still counted as the same card and denied re-use of it?
I can guess the answer but i thought i'd check

Card memory only resets after a card leaves play and is face down.
Chishaki is not face down while in the discard pile, thus the Once Per Turn rule applies to her ability. She will be unable to use her ability again that turn.
Also, see Physically marked card states, Overlaying: The stack has the overlaying card’s title, stats, keywords, traits, and abilities, and any other feature the game needs to check is based on the overlaying card.
The new stack is Isawa Chishaki.
