Scorpion questions - Saya, Tsimaru XP and Jimen

L5R CCG Rules board, 20 May 2008 to 22 May 2008

A topic from AEG's L5R CCG Rules forum, copied for Oracle of the Void from a copy of the forum saved in October 2015, so pages it didn't save are missing. Players' names are left out; the rules officials are named. Rulings are as they stood on these dates; later rulings, the rulebooks and the Rules Archive may differ.

I found an unanswered question on this forum (from sept. 2007) and I am still wondering about the answer: can Bayushi Saya target herself with her own action, and thus dishonor her so she can commit sepukku and kill herself to use Assigning Blame?

1) In addtion to that I have a question still concerning Bayushi Saya, can you target an opposing personality already dishonored? I believe you can but that it will not do anything since the PH of any dishonored personality is 0 and the card doesn't say "printed PH". Is that true?

2) Concerning Bayushi Tsimaru XP and its second reaction, is assigning units from home to a battle considered as a move or is a move only movement among battles?

3) Concerning Shosuro Jimen and its first open ability, if the personality has already performed an action and that after that you use Jimen open ability will the personality be bowed right away for a previous action or does this ability only work for future actions?

Bayushi Saya can target herself but she'll need to perform another action (or assign) before she can seppuku: http://www.alderac.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=59&t=60003.

1. She can target a dishonoured personality, but nothing will happen.

2. See Assign: "Assignment is not considered to be “moving.”"

3. Shosuro Jimen nonexp: "after" means "immediately after" (sort of). If something triggers "after an action resolves" you must apply the effect (or take the Reaction, etc) at that point. You can't and don't wait until later in the turn.

... in general!

As has been pointed out to me, if the target is rehonoured between Saya's action being taken and the trigger happening, the usual effects of Saya's action will occur.
