Samarhad and the Maw's Grave

I have a dead Samarhad who gained Shadowlands permanently. I bring him into play with the Maw's Grave (in my own turn) and use his action to take control of an opponent's non-ratling personality. At the end of my turn Samarhad is removed from play and I have to return the personality to its owner at the same time. Can I opt to remove Samarhad first? Do I then get to keep the stolen personality?

Thanks!

Can I opt to remove Samarhad first?

Yes. Both are delayed effects, applied at the same time: "At the end of the turn". Since you used those actions during your own turn, you are the active player so you can choose which is applied first (see Timing). However this won't help you much...

Do I then get to keep the stolen personality?

No, unless he became Ratling before the end of your turn. Once Samarhad's action has resolved, its delayed effect is applied at the end of turn even if he has left play.
