Negeting and playing again

L5R CCG Rules board, 17 January 2008

A topic from AEG's L5R CCG Rules forum, copied for Oracle of the Void from a copy of the forum saved in October 2015, so pages it didn't save are missing. Players' names are left out; the rules officials are named. Rulings are as they stood on these dates; later rulings, the rulebooks and the Rules Archive may differ.

I declare attack with few personalities. Opponent defends. I play Sneak Attack, Superior Strategist and battle action which effect is negated due my opponents Reinforce the Gates. Is it legal to play Unshakable and the same battle action from my discard again this turn/battle because effects were negeted?

Negating the effects of an Action has no bearing on whether the Action was used or not.

Even if all the effects of an Action are Negated that Action is used and that counts against any per-turn limits of use for the Action - including the default of "Once Per Turn," on most actions.
