RE: Doubts about Rule of Location.

L5R CCG Rules board, 10 September 2007

A topic from AEG's L5R CCG Rules forum, copied for Oracle of the Void from a copy of the forum saved in October 2015, so pages it didn't save are missing. Players' names are left out; the rules officials are named. Rulings are as they stood on these dates; later rulings, the rulebooks and the Rules Archive may differ.

From this post http://www.alderac.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=59&t=61490: "2.B) Can he use Two-Front War bowing the courtier at battlefield B to bring back THAT courtier to battlefield A?"

From Rules website for battles http://rules.l5r.com/Battles "EXCEPTION: A player who controls no units at the current battlefield can take an Action if its costs or effects say they can move one or more of his units there. He must then make choices within the action, if possible, such that it does move one or more of his units there, fulfilling Presence. Note, however, that a unit that was in an attacking army during a battle’s resolution can not move to another battlefield."

"EXCEPTION: A Battle Action can target or be taken by a card in a unit at another location if its costs or effects say they can move the unit to the current battlefield. Choices within the action must then be taken, if possible, such that they do move the unit there."

Doesn't Situation 2.B satisfy the exceptions, since he will be using Two-Front War to move the target courtier at B from B to the current battlefield? That would satisfy the "Choices within the action must then be taken, if possible, such that they do move the unit there" phrase, correct?

The good faith rule would allow that. I apologize for the error.
