A topic from AEG's L5R CCG Rules forum, copied for Oracle of the Void from a copy of the forum saved in October 2015, so pages it didn't save are missing. Players' names are left out; the rules officials are named. Rulings are as they stood on these dates; later rulings, the rulebooks and the Rules Archive may differ.

If a personality has a minimum chi effect on them (such as granted by the clan armors), and their Chi is at the minimum amount (5 in the case of the armors) - is that personality prevented from using their chi lowering effects due to an inability to 'pay' the cost? or do they pay the cost, have their chi lowered, and then raised back to the minimum value established by the armor?
Hida Daizu (exp) and Bayushi Tomo are the two personalities I have in mind.
Thanks!

The Search Function or Advanced Search function (top right corner of the Forum site) is a great tool to put to use before you send out a rules question. It can often get you an answer much more quickly.
Thank you,
