defending battle resolution

L5R CCG Rules board, 27 July 2007

A topic from AEG's L5R CCG Rules forum, copied for Oracle of the Void from a copy of the forum saved in October 2015, so pages it didn't save are missing. Players' names are left out; the rules officials are named. Rulings are as they stood on these dates; later rulings, the rulebooks and the Rules Archive may differ.

Hey guys, it's been a while. Hope your doing well. We play many multi-player games from 3 - 5 people. So it can be a while before it comes back to your turn. The question is this, if i'm playing using shugenja to cast spells and i bow all 4 of my shugenja to defend my province. Do they straighten before they come home. Or does the rule mean that battle ressolution doesn't bow the defender mean that though i won't bow at the end of a battle doesn't mean that i'll straighten during resolution.

The answer this can possibly completely change the dynamics of the game for us. Thanks

The rule means that Resolution won't bow your cards like it would Attacking or Allied cards.

It does not mean that any cards in your army that have been bowed will straighten at the end of the Battle Resolution. Anyone who you've bowed as a cost or had bowed in the tides of battle won't be straightened by the rules the govern Battle Resolution.
