A topic from AEG's L5R CCG Rules forum, copied for Oracle of the Void from a copy of the forum saved in October 2015, so pages it didn't save are missing. Text of Card: Ayamari 2 Force 4 Chi - , 8 , 0 Mantis Clan * Kenku * Creature * Nonhuman * Ninja Battle: Once per battle: Bow a target Personality with lower Chi opposing Ayamari. Ayamari may then fly away, moving to another location. Curiosity can lead the kenku to many strange activities. [SE & LE bugs]

Scenario Mantis player attacks with Ayamari and other personalities at Province A. No personalities attack province B Defendant Defends at A, assume no defense at B.

Mantis PLayer Declares battle B first.

Question:

Can he use Ayamari's ability at "A" to bow an oppsing defending personality and then move Ayamari to B since it would result in a personality arriving into the Location of battlefield B satisfying the Location requirement?

If not, why not?

Martin Lund (rules official), 27 July 2007

EXCEPTION: A Battle Action can target or be taken by a card in a unit at another location if its costs or effects say they can move the unit to the current battlefield. Choices within the action must then be taken, if possible, such that they do move the unit there.
