Lose Honor costs for Spider and Shadowlands

L5R CCG Rules board, 13 June 2007

A topic from AEG's L5R CCG Rules forum, copied for Oracle of the Void from a copy of the forum saved in October 2015, so pages it didn't save are missing. Players' names are left out; the rules officials are named. Rulings are as they stood on these dates; later rulings, the rulebooks and the Rules Archive may differ.

Hi! I just want to clarify if Spider and Shadowlands can use any of the cards below. Basically, I'm just having difficulty if the lose honor clause is a cost on the following cards.

The Spider's Lair

You do not lose Honor from Fate and Spider Clan cards you own.

In your Dynasty Phase, you may refill a province face-up one time for each of your provinces destroyed this game.

Special Rules for Shadowlands Horde

You do not experience honor gain or losses. They simply do not occur. This is not negation and applies even to gains and honor losses may not be modified.

Death after Life

Reaction: After one of your Personalities is destroyed during battle: Lose 5 Honor. Target a dead Personality in your discard pile, or in any discard pile if you are a Spider Clan player. Permanently give him Shadowlands and Undead. Bring him into play in your current army, ignoring restrictions (paying all costs).

Cursed Gift

Battle: Lose 3 Honor. Give a target Personality or Follower in the enemy army -3F. Its abilities can not be used this battle. If you control a Bloodspeaker or a Shadowlands Shugenja, permanently give the target Shadowlands.

Fight Another Day

Battle: Lose 2 Honor. Move home, then straighten, all units in your army. If this moved a Nonhuman, draw a card.

Thanks!

Special Rules for Shadowlands Horde

Ignore those. Spider Clan is not Shadowlands.
