While i agree with most of what was answered there is something that i guess is wrong.

Reaction: Before a player is about to win an Honor victory: Any one player may step forward one unbowed Personality to challenge that player. That player may accept the challenge with any Personality (including bowed Personalities). Unless the challenge is accepted and won, that player's Honor is reduced to 39.
The last effect (in bold) of the action is a conditional effect, but it is not a effect of the challenge.The only effect of the challenge is destroy the loser.
When is the player's honour reduced to 39?
After the duel is won.
Untrue, since there is no need to be a duel at all, the reacion can be played even if there are not personalityes in play.
And the duel is conditional to having an unbowed personality and a player willing to duel,also the challenge has to be accepted by one personality, if not the challenge will never be able to generate a duel.
Yet the honor will change anyway since it is not a result of the duel.
This is clear b/c the player will drop to 39 honor if he had no personalities to accept the challenge
Also Yotsu dojo has to react before the honor drops to 39.
Since the timming is this one:
o.- strike
i.- revelate focused cards.
ii.- compare totals and determine the winner
iii.- apply the effects of the duel.(Death, bow, draw, etc) => the dueled personality dies. => trigger for Yotsu dojo.
iv.- apply aditional effects of the duel (uso sensei, Eiya, enmity) => If it was Eiya, the duel applies a 2nd destrution => if the personality is still in play destroy it again (nice against the never-dies f-down kuroiban complex)
vii.- discard focus cards.
viii.- the duel ends.
ix.- triggered traits go off (Masote xp) => no yotsu here since it is a trait.
x.- reactions to winning the duel (Saori xp , legendary confrontation) => if the personality is still in play => another chance to react with yotsu dojo
xi.- next effect of the action resolves. => So here is where the "Unless the challenge is accepted and won, that player's Honor is reduced to 39."
Happens.
Since Yotsu dojo has given you honor before your family honor drops, It cant change it back in time to win by honor victory.
