Can I put in play an Experienced Unique Card having already its Non Experienced Unique Card in play? I am not overlaying just puting in plat as I would do with any other Personality.
Is this correct for Diamond?
A topic from AEG's L5R CCG Rules forum, copied for Oracle of the Void from the Wayback Machine (its copy), so posts it didn't save are missing. Players' names are left out; the rules officials are named. Rulings are as they stood on these dates; later rulings, the rulebooks and the Rules Archive may differ.

No. Two unique cards of the same title/experience chain may not normally be in play at the same time.
That's not quite correct.
A Unique card cannot enter play as a new card if another Unique card with the exact same title is already in play.
A Unique card also cannot overlay any existing card if that would result in two or more Unique cards with the exact same title being in play. (It can overlay if it's overlaying the only card that conflicts with it.)
Experience levels don't mean a thing when it comes to playing cards in the normal, non-overlaying fashion. Only titles do.
Hypothetical example:
"Mirumoto Gohei" has the traits "Experienced Unique".
"Gohei" has the traits "Experienced 2 Mirumoto Gohei Unique".
Either of these cards can be played while the other is in play because their titles are different.
I think what confused Chris is that there are times in L5R's history when a card such as Gohei would have the additional trait, "Counts as Mirumoto Gohei for Uniqueness". There is no general rule that makes the cards work that way, however.
