A topic from AEG's L5R CCG Rules forum, copied for Oracle of the Void from the Wayback Machine (its copy), so posts it didn't save are missing. Players' names are left out; the rules officials are named. Rulings are as they stood on these dates; later rulings, the rulebooks and the Rules Archive may differ.

Sorry for asking again. I apologise for not searching well enough for the kachiko's kiss part of my previous question.
Does a Kyuden Otomo player have the favor while all he has are favor tokens, for the use of cards like Command of the Kami?
Does a Kyuden Otomo player has to announce if he's taking the REAL favor or if he's taking a token? (this would most likely only be of any interest if the player is lobbying for the first time).
Thank you!

No.
Actually, he must announce what he's lobbying for when he announces that he lobbies. I'm fairly certain I've answered as such, though the search isn't showing it right now.
