Hello.
About: http://www.alderac.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=26058
That would mean that you get to focus 3+ cards at once in a only focus or strike oportunity. But that seems contradictory to:

(Last post by Jeff A.)
Ronin Swordsman, The Shadow's Claw, and Tsuma Dojo replace one focus with another one.
That means that you can only focus with more then one card with you could have focused more than one card at once.

DE rulebook p.75:
sometimes a Reaction changes the trigger in such a way that further Reactions aren’t legal.
Would not this mean that once resolved the 1st ronin swordsman reaction the one of the other 2 would be ilegal? (since you have actualy focused)
Example:
i- declare focus (ie instead of strike)
ii- react with the 1st swordsman (Before focusing for this Personality)
iii- no reactions to the reaction on the 1st swordsman are taken.
iv- resolve the swordsman reaction => focus.
v- No more reactions to "Before focusing for this Personality" are legal since the personality has actualy focused.
If the reason to make it work (use 3 at once) is that it is a effect and that allows it to ignore the maximun number of cards that a personality can focus at once. (usualy one)
That would mean that Tsuma dojo can be used in combination with focusing a card from the hand.(Focusing 2 cards at once)
i- the player chooses to focus (anouncement of focusing)
ii- reaction of tsuma dojo. (no reaction to stop it pass/pass)
iii- resolution of tsuma dojo focus with a card (the "instead of with a card from your hand." doesnt do nothing b/c the card affects is actualy in the discard)
iv- Resolution of the "normal" focusing => choose the card focused from the hand
So the player has focused 2 cards. The only thing that makes this not work is that It was ruled the it is a focus "instead of" the normal one.
Ronin Swordsman, The Shadow's Claw, and Tsuma Dojo replace one focus with another one.
If that ruling is waived, nothing will forbid to focus 5 cards "at once."
Tsuma dojo + 3x ronin sowrdsman + shadows/claw (or a card focused from the hand)
Thanks.

If Jeff says Ronin Swordsman replaces the normal focus, it does. It would have been nice if the card text said "instead" of focusing normally, but oh well.
My earlier posts were thus incorrect. You only get one Ronin Swordsman per duel.
Jeff Alexander (rules official), 24 August 2005
The focusing of the Ronin Swordsman from your hand occurs instead of the focusing you would have done, and accounts for the entire focusing. (In other words, if you were going to focus with multiple cards, you do not replace just one of those cards with the Swordsman; you replace the entire focusing act with focusing the Swordsman alone.)
You may react to the focusing of the Swordsman with other Reactions to focusing, including an additional Ronin Swordsman.
