Kyuden Agasha + cost reduction [followup]

L5R CCG Rules board, 12 April 2005

A topic from AEG's L5R CCG Rules forum, copied for Oracle of the Void from the Wayback Machine (its copy), so posts it didn't save are missing. Players' names are left out; the rules officials are named. Rulings are as they stood on these dates; later rulings, the rulebooks and the Rules Archive may differ.

Ok, reacting to a ruling here :

When Agasha Kushojin use his ability and your stroghold is Kyuden Agasha, the fear strenght is calculated taking the stroghold discount in account?

No; cost reductions last until something is paid for (Enemy of My Enemy rulesheet).

I didn't see the EomE rulesheet yet, but what I heard is that "until the cost are paid" is a default duration added to "until the end of the turn" for unspecified duration effect.

However, the trait on the stronghold is a trait, well, that's obvious , but my point is, the effect is not applied once, it is constantly applied, so the reduction should be still there after cost is paid (though I prefer the other ruling, it would perhaps make KA more playable).

My earlier post has now been corrected (thanks for linking straight to it). Cost reductions with a specified duration -- including "all the time" -- work as they always did. (It's a bit tricky, not having an EoME rulesheet to work from...)
