I was wondering whether a personality, stolen using Show of Good Faith, will return to play under the permanent control of another player when he's used Suitengu's Surge to kick that personality from play. I had thought this was the case at some point, but I could easily have been mistaken. Thanks for your time!
Suitengu's Surge and Show of Good Faith
A topic from AEG's L5R CCG Rules forum, copied for Oracle of the Void from the Wayback Machine (its copy), so posts it didn't save are missing. Players' names are left out; the rules officials are named. Rulings are as they stood on these dates; later rulings, the rulebooks and the Rules Archive may differ.
So, I found the following, which was what I remembered, but I was told that because of a more recent ruling, it doesn't work anymore. Which is the case?
EDIT: What I was specifically told was that Surge's text brings the card back into play "before the beginning of the next turn", which, in rules speak, means timed with the beginning of the next turn, more or less. At this point, Show of Good Faith's "until the end of the turn" effect has run its course. When it returns to play, the claim is that it's returning to play on its opponents side. So he's bringing it into play. I'm thinking that Suitengu's Surge is my card effect, and since it's returning the unit to play, I gain control of it. I'm just not sure.

"While he or she is under your control" is a duration, not a condition. Restrictions so described end when the Personality leaves play (even if he or she returns to play; e.g., Feign Death, Suitengu's Surge). (Note that the end of this these restrictions is specific to Show of Good Faith, not an application of any general rule on effect durations.) [JA, 26 February 2004]

okay, that was the wrong entry to quote. silly me for copying the first Show entry with Surge on it.

I hope the rules people on the board don't mind me pressing for an answer. I'd appreciate it if someone could tell me whether Suitengu's Surge works with Show of Good Faith. Simple yes or no answers from trusted authorities would suffice. Thanks a lot, in advance, for the help!
