A topic from AEG's L5R CCG Rules forum, copied for Oracle of the Void from a copy of the forum saved in October 2015, so pages it didn't save are missing. Players' names are left out; the rules officials are named. Rulings are as they stood on these dates; later rulings, the rulebooks and the Rules Archive may differ.

Since reminder text has no bearing on the rules, doesn't that mean when you use Cavalry Escort's ability you have to pay to attach the card to the personality?
From the comp rules page 36:
"Furthermore, any time an effect brings an attachment into play from an out-of-play area, it is considered Equipping and follows the Equip procedure with any modifications."

Under discussion - either that text will be removed from the Comprehensive Rules, or Cavalry Escort will be errata'd.
