Bowed cards question.

L5R CCG Rules board, 5 May 2014

A topic from AEG's L5R CCG Rules forum, copied for Oracle of the Void from a copy of the forum saved in October 2015, so pages it didn't save are missing. Players' names are left out; the rules officials are named. Rulings are as they stood on these dates; later rulings, the rulebooks and the Rules Archive may differ.

I'm new to the game but I saw something strange with some players that seemed contrary to the rules.

Players would bow weapons for their ability but still count the force towards the total unlike with followers. Is this correct because reading the basic rules I was under the impression that any bowed card no longer counted towards your force total.

Thanks in advance.

This is actually correct. Items' Modifiers (note the "+" and sometimes "-" before them, which are absent from Followers) add directly to the Personality's stats, so in order for that Force not to count, the Personality would have be bowed.
