Shadowed Estate of the Scorpion Question

L5R CCG Rules board, 27 March 2014

A topic from AEG's L5R CCG Rules forum, copied for Oracle of the Void from a copy of the forum saved in October 2015, so pages it didn't save are missing. Players' names are left out; the rules officials are named. Rulings are as they stood on these dates; later rulings, the rulebooks and the Rules Archive may differ.

The Shadowed Estate of the Scorpion: 7PS/4GP/1FH Tireless Open: Name a Fate card, or name a Dynasty card in play. Negate the effects of the next action from a card with that title.

So, the stronghold's open action is to negate the effects of the next action from the named card... my question is does that "next action" last longer than the turn? So, I negate a personality's next use of his ability, does that negation stay in place until the ability is attempted (which might not happen the current turn) or until the end of the turn?

Just checking.

Thanks

No, the delayed effect from the Shadowed Estate lasts only until the end of the turn. In order to last longer, it should say "after the next time this game" like here
