If I have Calvary and I attack and don't go anywhere, then I pick a battlefield no one is at, and the person I am attacking has a Calvary unit as well and we both want to use the Calvary ability, which goes first? Do I as the attack go in 2nd or can the defender pass, I go in, then it goes back to him for an engage to go in?
With fear, if my person has a follower does that mean that my person can't be hit with fear no matter what as long as I have that or a follower?
Can you have two or more of the same spell on your person?
If I am at a battlefield and I have a person that says something like Battle: straighten a target personality. Can I pick someone that is not at the battlefield or does it have to say at any location?

The attacker chooses the battlefield. Then the Engage Segment begins. The defender has the first opportunity to take an Engage action or pass. Since there are no units attacking his provinces, he'll most likely pass. Then it's your opportunity to take an Engage action or pass. Since you want to destroy his undefended province, you announce the Cavalry ability and move in.
Now, since you haven't passed, the Engage Segment goes on, and now can the defender take an Engage action or pass. Since you're now threatening his province, he may now want to use his own Cavalry ability to oppose you. The Engage Segment will keep going on as long as at least one player plays Engage actions. Once both of you pass consecutively, then the Engage Segment will be over and we'll go then to the Combat Segment.

Most usually. There are some exceptions like this guy here where an effect can modify the Fear and waive some of its restrictions, though.

No rule forbids it, provided they are not Unique

Actions taking during a Battle are subject to the Rules of Location, pg 15 of the Reference Rulebook, so cards in units must be at the current battlefield in order to be legally chosen as targets of a Battle action.
