Unexpected Discovery versus The False Route

L5R CCG Rules board, 16 March 2014 to 17 March 2014

A topic from AEG's L5R CCG Rules forum, copied for Oracle of the Void from a copy of the forum saved in October 2015, so pages it didn't save are missing. Players' names are left out; the rules officials are named. Rulings are as they stood on these dates; later rulings, the rulebooks and the Rules Archive may differ.

If I use The False Route to create a battlefield that is not associated with a province can my Opponent use Unexpected Discovery to move back to the previous battlefield or another adjacent one?

Unexpected Discovery Battle: Move your target opposed Personality (at the current battlefield) to an adjacent battlefield.

The False Route Battle: Create a battlefield without a Province. Move your target Personality and a target enemy Personality there; if your Personality is a Scout, straighten his unit.

Battlefields not associated with a province are not adjacent to any other battlefield.
