My Lord's Favor + Confusion at Court

L5R CCG Rules board, 14 March 2014 to 15 March 2014

A topic from AEG's L5R CCG Rules forum, copied for Oracle of the Void from a copy of the forum saved in October 2015, so pages it didn't save are missing. Players' names are left out; the rules officials are named. Rulings are as they stood on these dates; later rulings, the rulebooks and the Rules Archive may differ.

Just to make sure I properly understand Ivory targeting of conditional effects: I control a single bowed unit who has been targeted by multiple copies of Bayushi Shizuka. I have the favor, and announce My Lord's Favor, intending to straighten my lone personality. My opponent interrupts with Confusion at Court. My current understanding is that I do not target my personality because the effect requiring mandatory targeting doesn't happen, as it was conditional on me discarding the favor which was negated by Confusion at Court.

Correct.

PS And multiple Shizukas aren't really much more useful than just one
