Trying to make sure I fully grasp the good faith rule.
Can I announce Yasuki Trader if I have no item in my discard?
Is there some weird thing where I shuffle it, even if there is no item to shuffle in?
The holding still bows, right?

A topic from AEG's L5R CCG Rules forum, copied for Oracle of the Void from a copy of the forum saved in October 2015, so pages it didn't save are missing. Players' names are left out; the rules officials are named. Rulings are as they stood on these dates; later rulings, the rulebooks and the Rules Archive may differ.

If you announce Yasuki Trader without an Item in the discard pile, you bow it as a cost and nothing else happens. Blind Cards Rule is still effective, but we've had to restrict a couple of things, namely discarding the Favor, that used to be a cost but now is an important effect instead, and usage restrictions, that used to be more prominent in the template. Since Yasuki Trader doesn't target, hasn't got a "discard the Favor" effect, nor a "If" clause at the beginning, you're good to proceed.
