Let's say that I have Doji Soeka in play and an item such as Justice of the Crane (+3F, +1C) in my hand. Doji Soeka (2F, 4C, 3PH) has an action which says: Open: Target a Personality with lower Personal Honor than Soeka's Chi. Set his Force equal to his own Chi.
If I use her action on herself first (setting her force to 4) and then attach the Justice of the Crane to her as well, does the resulting personality have 7F (for this turn only)? Or is it 5F?

When you set a stat to a certain value, you give it a bonus or penalty equal to the difference between its current value and new value. In this case, Soeka would give herself a +2F bonus using her ability, and then the item's modifier would give an additional +3F, for 7F total (that turn).
