Final Sacrifice

L5R CCG Rules board, 28 January 2014 to 29 January 2014

A topic from AEG's L5R CCG Rules forum, copied for Oracle of the Void from a copy of the forum saved in October 2015, so pages it didn't save are missing. Players' names are left out; the rules officials are named. Rulings are as they stood on these dates; later rulings, the rulebooks and the Rules Archive may differ.

I saw older posts. But with the new Battle Action resolution sequence of Announce, Pay Costs, play Interrupts, Resolve Effects I would like clarification.

1)Targeting is part of resolving effects correct?

2)A player with Final Sacrifice must use the interrupt prior to my targeting, correct?

3)Who has the first opportunity to "interrupt" during that "action" phase? The defender, the player whose turn it is, or the player that played the action?

4)When does a player reasonably lose the ability to interrupt, during a tight game of stare at your opponent after every action is announced, and costs are payed?

1) Yes (though targeting is not itself an effect)

2) Yes

3) The active player (Advanced Rulebook, pg 47, down). And it's actually called an action "round", because all players get one or more opportunities to play an action in turn order.

4)Well, how did you do it with Reactions back then? You must give the opponent a reasonable time to announce the Interrupt, or at least clearly mark he needs time to think. If after a few seconds he doesn't do either, you may proceed.
