Earlier I was playing in a local tournament and the opponent reacted with retribution after I took a province with my personality. I used Moving and Unmoving to try and bring my personality into the battlefield but he argued that he cannot defend because he had already been in a battle resolution that turn. Who would be right in this case? Can your personality who was at a battlefield as the attacker during resolution move in to defend a province from a ret or perfect moment in the same turn? Can they also assign to defend as well if it's Miromuto Kojinrue XP or a personality who was given the ability from Hachiman's Prowess if it's your opponent using ret or TPM and said personality was part of battle resolution as the attacker?
Defending a Ret or Perfect Moment
A topic from AEG's L5R CCG Rules forum, copied for Oracle of the Void from a copy of the forum saved in October 2015, so pages it didn't save are missing. Players' names are left out; the rules officials are named. Rulings are as they stood on these dates; later rulings, the rulebooks and the Rules Archive may differ.
Your opponent was wrong. The Second Battle Rule forbids you from moving after being during resolution in an attacking army during the same Attack Phase. However, Retribution / Perfect Moment create new Attack Phases, and you're no longer bound by what happened in the previous, normal Attack Phase.
