Kitsuki Kaagi's Journals

L5R CCG Rules board, 19 April 2013

A topic from AEG's L5R CCG Rules forum, copied for Oracle of the Void from a copy of the forum saved in October 2015, so pages it didn't save are missing. Players' names are left out; the rules officials are named. Rulings are as they stood on these dates; later rulings, the rulebooks and the Rules Archive may differ.

Kitsuki Kaagi's Journal Unique Cards in this unit may not be targeted with, or chosen as the performer of, actions except by actions that only target or performed by Ninja, or that will attach a card that only a Ninja may attach, even if the target or chosen performer is not a Ninja. You do not gain Honor from duels involving this Personality, battles his army wins, assigning him as an ally, or actions he performs. Reaction: Any number of times per turn, after a Ninja or Kolat action targets a card not in this unit, bow this card: Negate its effects.

Was checking the wording of the journal on oracle, and it now has a clause that the personalty may not be chosen as a performer of an action save that which targets or is performed by a ninja. So would that mean that actions printed on the personalty it is attached would not be able to be taken, as they are performing their own actions, and unless they are a ninja, they could not announce said action, per the good faith rule?

It's a bit of a tricky one so I won't hit you with the "use the search function" reply, but as seen here, the Personality in that case isn't being chosen as the performer, so the Good Book won't stop it.
