Shiba's Guidance and Ring of Fire / Earth

L5R CCG Rules board, 17 April 2013

A topic from AEG's L5R CCG Rules forum, copied for Oracle of the Void from a copy of the forum saved in October 2015, so pages it didn't save are missing. Players' names are left out; the rules officials are named. Rulings are as they stood on these dates; later rulings, the rulebooks and the Rules Archive may differ.

I am a bit confused on the wording of these cards.

Ring of Fire and Ring of Earth use the wording "After the resolution of a battle" and Shiba's Guidance uses the wording "After a battle resolution ends". There are some other cards that allow card draw after battle resolution, and it seems that they each have similar, but different, wording.

Are these cards reacting to the same trigger or different triggers?

More or less, if I have a card draw effect that responds to battle resolution, and I draw an appropriate ring, may I put it into play?

Thanks for the help.

"After the resolution of a battle" is the same timing point than "after a battle's resolution ends"; the difference in wording is due to the need of tying the resolution to other conditions ("that you won etc." or "at a province etc.") in the case of Rings. If you draw Ring of Fire / Earth with Shiba's Guidance XP, you may play it immediately (assuming you fulfil all conditions)
