do legacy decks start with border keep and bamboo harvesters?

If Obsidian Hand Legacy. Yes.
in AEG Legacy it's an optional rule but both players must accept it.
for Dijuro sensei (fortification sensei) if the fortification has bonus to province strength, is it capped at +4? running it out of Phoenix, so province strength would cap at 10 total?
Yes.
so having the holdings that only buff province strength is not that useful?
and also the stratigies that boost it probably wont work as well either then
Yes. Sensei just provides PS if you use standard non PS boosting fortifications.
so the PS could go past 10?
No. It's capped on printed + 4. But i wanted to say that this Sensei just makes every defended Province +1PS per Fortification (up to +4PS.). It allows to focus on eg honor gaining Fortifications and aditionaly gain PS boost. If you want to make realy high PS Provinces you s hould use other Sensei (or none) and focus on +PS Fortifications and card effects.
ok
i was trying it out on solo, and i couldn't attach more then 1 fortification to a province
Hmm, i will record something liek this and give you a link. It will take a while.
When YT will proceed this one it will be available here: https://youtu.be/pheVpzdePwk
Just wait up to 10 mins
It's ready in SD resolution. Wait a while for HD
so when using architect (the one that lets you choose the provice to attach to) is it best to put the target fort to the top of the deck, then move it to your desired provice?
Before you ask. You cant ad face up Fortification to current Province, it will be added as another Province. Ou must put it on top of Dynasty, move facedown at current Fortification and face up.
Yes, sometimes it becomes clunky, especially if there are Fortifications that eg may change Provinces
ok
i dont know if i can play this sensei it feels too clunky to get it to work gold wise
for my Onyx Crane Dueling Deck, rules question regarding Genshin Sensei: "You cannot take Honor actions" means which, that I can't take actions usign the Honor keyword (Discard an Honor card to give an honor gain or loss +1 or -1), or that I can't gain honor from action cards?
probably should have added the card for context first
It looks like with Genshin Sensei you can't use Honor as rulebook Interrupt.
That is correct. 🙂
Honor needs bolding
perhaps, to avoid this confusion
So you still my play such card for its ability, but you can't use its Honor mechanic to increase/decrease Honor gain.
Because of Keyword Inheritance -> Honor keyword in this card doesn't affect ability.
thanks for the clarification, means I don't have to change anything there
Actions on fortifications are only for that province right?
Yep. More specifically, only if the current battle is at its Province's battlefield, but I'm sure that's what you meant.
Is the calvary engage once per battle? Or can I bring in as many units as I have calvary?
Cavalry engage is once per turn
Oh ok. Same with tactical advantage action?
No. Every Personality with Tactician keywords can use Tactical Advantage (once per turn).
Cavalry Engage is rulebook player ability.
Tactical Advantage is an abiility granted to every Tactician
Oh, ok. Thanks for clearing that up.
On modern and legacy format, is there gold pooling?
As Modern is based on Twenty Festivals format, so yes, there's gold pooling, lack of clan discount, new cavalry and naval.
Talking about Legacy it depends - in most popular Obsidian Hand Legacy there's no gold pooling, theres clan discount and every player choose what cavalry he plays classic or ivory one.
In less popular AEG classic Legacy situation is like in Modern.
If a fortification has a battle ability or interrupt. Can it be used with no presence? Last night we were playing it with the presence required assumption
presence is required unless it says otherwise
Ok
For legacy format. Would spawning grounds work with the onyx Ed oni sensei? Or would that be an auto loss?
It's fine. Your family honour is fixed at -19.
ok.
thanks
Clarification question regarding the Koutetsu armors:
"This Personality has a minimum Chi of 5."
Is this a prerequisite or does this raise a Personality's Chi to 5 if it's lower than 5?
It gives the Personality a minimum Chi.
Thought as much, just wanted to check since the next line in each Koutetsu is a prerequisite "Can only attach to a [X] Clan Personality."
So it raises their chi to 5 if it is below 5 and prevents it from being reduced below 5?
So it changes the value to 5 before bonuses or penalties are applied
No.
So it applies bonuses and penalties and then raises to 5 if below 5
Yes
Didn't they remove the "clan discount " in EE or something?
Ivory
you pay the printed price, may Proclaim (gain personal honor of the bought person) once per turn
if you're buying out of clan, you pay +2 gold
Oh ok
So onyx is no discount too then correct?
Correct
I was reading the legacy rules for the big deck, which is what triggered the memory. I wasn't sure if u was playing it correctly at first.
BigDeck for some time was 100/100 using Ivory/20F ruleset as a core (like Modern), but they decided to make decks smaller (80/80) and use Emperor ruleset as a core.
Reasonable as it's all cards formast and nearly all that people use come from pre-Ivory sets.
Does having reconnaissance mean you've performed a recon ability at the selected battlefield prior to or during combat? Building a Daidoji deck in Modern
check Oracle
for specific card, for most of them you have
