I forgot. Sozen dies or not from an action that reduces his chi to 0 under 20F / Modern / OBH ruleset?

I would argue that it's not the action causing the death, but a rulebook effect around having 0 Chi for any reason (that's not overruled by a card effect).
He was immune to such chi death during Samurai. I forgot it was changed later or not.
Really. That's kinda neat.
If I remember correctly, cards like wounded in battle will not kill him if his chi drops to 0.
But tokens that give -X chi will kill him if it drops to 0.
Yeah, that sounds reasonable. Because the token will continually apply while it exists and is on him.
Yeah, I think @saaam's answer directly below your initial question is right. The Chi Death Rule in the CR is a Rule, so that would make it a Rulebook effect. There's nothing in its text that suggests the destruction is from the action that caused the 0 Chi; compare to entry for tokens which explicitly makes clear that their bonuses or penalties are from the effect that last created them.
Yeah, but there was at least a period where Reese wanted Chi death to be an effect of the action that created the Chi penalty, not a Rulebook effect.
but i remembered it worked this way in Samurai. i just dont know when it was changed later https://imgur.com/gvTdTZ6
