multiple krn'n stacks? i mean if two of them are on board, both have 4F?
Sun and Moon #rules-questions
Messages from the Sun and Moon #rules-questions Discord channel, copied for Oracle of the Void. Players' names are left out; the rules officials are named. Rulings are as they stood on these dates; later rulings and the rulebooks may differ.
I would say yes, based on that wording, because it's a +1F, not just 1F.
Samurai and Legacy holdings. Just checking rulebook and saw this:
Was there any clarification you can use it only on first turn? Becasue as far i can remember people were using this reaction only on first turn. Was it possible to use it on every turn?
It's from digital Samurai_preview rulebook. Need to check paper version tomorrow.
Yes, you can use that any turn you did not put any holdings into play.
I don't see why not; it's not something game-breaking, because you're bowing your SH each turn to bring in one Holding per turn, and no others.
Honestly i've never seen anybody playing on second turn or later. Really. And Samurai was my first serious tournament edition.
I have. Several times back in the day. Gold flow just really sucks back then lol.
Did they change that during the arch? My samurai edition spider rule book says otherwise
That's... so typical AEG.
Both rulings are in same rulebook. Second playet start with bowed Legacy holding AND every player may bow his Stronghold during Dynasty phase to search for Legacy hilding.
They're not rulings, they're rules.
But yes, they're not contradictory, and they're both in effect (if you're using that ruleset): Second player starts with a bowed Legacy holding AND every player may bow his Stronghold during Dynasty phase to search for a Legacy holding.
That makes sense. So second gets a free folding and can still search. I see the origin of border and bamboo much clearer
It's an interesting and contentious topic.
On the one hand, I feel that it helped with gold-screws.
And in a manageable way, without too much of a boost.
Whereas Border/Bamboo gave the game a lot more acceleration, and all of a sudden you could have a big dude out, or get two Holdings then your Clan Champion.
It was possible to build decks in Emperor with very few holdings.
The Crab deck that won Worlds in Barcelona had 3x Small Farm, 3x Large Farm, and possibly 3x Iron Mine, I forget.
3 Small Farm 3 Large Farm 3 Blue Tanuki Bar
That was it.
+ 3 One Koku (that was banned later).
Yeah
@kempy_nezumi I have a doubt... I like to play with EE edition rules or 20F... but I build m decks for a legacy format including cards from various editions... that's legacy? EE?
If you use 20F rules for older cards you just play... kind of official AEG Legacy. But if you use strict EE ruleset with whole cardpool its your custom Legacy system. And its really similiar to BigDeck besides BD is highlander (max. one copy of every card).
I see... well, in that case I guess I will go for the official AEG Legacy... time to refresh the 20F rules hahahaha
And theres also this AEG Legacy document in dropbox (alternate/legacy).
👍
So what was the end of AEG era? I played right as the game started to be sold off.
The last bits were in the Ivory arc, the Twenty Festivals core set and a few expansions.
So I guess I'll be an ivory player. I have an honor crane deck as my go to for paper.
I guess there's some Ivory players around, but I haven't seen too many.
The game rules were changed pretty heavily for Ivory arc.
I have a few friends I played with. But learning some potentially older formats could be neat.
Though I tend to take a deck and memorize it. (I have a visual impairment) lets me not have to strain my eyes trying to read mid game.
Hmm. Not sure how SnM will aid or impede that. On a large monitor, I've found it pretty enjoyable, especially being able to bring up a zoomed card by right-clicking on it.
That's pretty nice. I tried finding some l5r stuff on table top sim but couldn't.
This is the best there is out there. Welcome! 😄
