Jade rulebook has this strange definition: "The later version keeps the earlier one's attached cards, tokens,abilities, bowed or unbowed status, and permanent changes. The later version's printed statsand traits override the earlier version's, unless the earlier version's were permanent changes."

"no effects are triggered by the card entering play"
So he would keep the trait that was initially chosen when you brought the non-experienced version into play
But when you overlay you wouldn't choose a second trait
Wouldn't it be the same either way? Ongoing effects persist, so it will still have the keyword its basic got, then it isn't considered to enter play, so the Exps trait won't trigger?
Gaining the keywords isn't an ongoing effect, so I don't know that is an issue, right?

You keep the initial choice but don't get a new choice when you overlay.

I would think that's a rules-level change, less than the card
Courtesy didn't exist so no longer a Jade question and it's onto silly nonsense design choices and I'm out lol
Courtesy is a continuous trait on the card which would be overwritten in most cases. Specific example preferred for specific answers. 🙂
I don't think there's an example that prevents ongoing effects, so it's more theory.
