Rules wise, I am just curious based on the flavor text and card art, why is this not a Thunder keyword?

It says it is blessed by the dragon of thunder
The original didn’t have Thunder
But... why
it makes no sens
e
Card mechanics do not always perfectly reflect story elements. This has always been so.
Haven't they given Experienced versions of old cards new keywords?
Thats... not true
but ok
I assume you're replying to my post? If you contend that my post is untrue, then I would conclude you're asserting that "card mechanics DID ALWAYS PERFECTLY reflect story elements", and I doubt many would agree.
Really? so maho spells aren't maho anymore I guess
smh
I am not in a great mood, not really trying to fight with or argue about anything.
Im just curious why the armor blessed by the thunder dragon, the armor of osono-wo, the armor with obvious lightning on it...
I am wondering what the mechanical reason why it doesn't have the thunder keyword
thats it.
Let me check something
I don't know how you come to that conclusion? Counterpoint inspired by whatever it is you're trying to say that I am not following: Dim Mak in the RPG is nothing like Dim Mak in the CCG.
But as for the Armor, mechanically, I can't speak for Design. They decided to not add a keyword to it that it didn't have before, for whatever reason. The only point I was trying to make is that their prerogative to do so does not fully fly in the face of previous Design/Story harmony.
Ok... well I am trying to ask what the rationale was behind the design choice...
Was there some mechanical reason for it? Etc
Wanted to check other cards printed during the game's life for comparison's sake, so while I was not part of the design choice and therefore cannot speak towards its intent, I offer the following:
From a rules perspective, it's not relevant. As far as memory serves, no card would gain added interaction if it were Thunder
From a lore-perspective, it was the armor worn by Osano-Wo in his battles against the Trolls, and blessed by his mother, the Thunder Dragon, to offer protection while boosting his strength and will. The electric arcs are proof of this blessing, but the effects of the blessing are not on the basis of Thunder itself, but of how it is expressed through the actions of Man, originally the actions of the man who would become the Fortune of Fire and Thunder
Or, in short: the enchantment is a buff spell, the lightning arcs are a $5 cosmetic skin
If you don't mind a bit of a jest
I mean... even if its cosmetic, this lightning is still there, it was still blessed by the thunder dragon, and it was still the armor of osono-wo... so... I would think just for thematic reasons it would be there...
if the reason is only "the old armor that inspired it didn't have it, so we didn't think to update it to have it this time" would be a viable explanation.
just trying to understand the mindset behind the choice.
There was no mechanical decision
...
thats the most dissatisfying comment lol
I just didn't think about it
Sorry to disappoint anyone
But it's what I do best
ok, so you just saw the old card, and remade it and didn't consider what it was except for renaming it
ok thats fair
i'll just add it on my end to make it thematic for my own sanity lol
Ooooook then...

more like some people are good at being disappointed.
Are there any requirements for using maho spells other than just having a shugenja. And are there any consequences for using them. Checked the current rules and couldn’t find anything, but know there have been in the past.
No, and no there have not been in the past.
Consequences are written on the card...or on other people's cards 🙂
And maybe consequences in the story.
Question: are the personality tokens produced by Waietto Exp also singular, if i have Dangai Sensei?
Question: are the personality tokens produced by Waietto Exp also singular, if i have Dangai Sensei?
Yes, but created cards don’t have titles. So you can have more than one
would this trigger Yu effects at the end of battle, or has the timing past?
and this is when yu is being activated at battle res
from desperate
Terrains are in play during and past Battle Resolution army destruction, so it would trigger.
wooooooow... was not expecting that
Opponent has a shugenja that also has a yu effect, if I kill a personality, during the "yu step" does the opponent also get to trigger their yu?
Don’t fight on Desperate Ground unless you want your sh*t rocked
No will explain better in a second
Yu traits don't trigger other Yu.
Thats what we were wanting to know ty
but the yu with a destruction effect is killing the target
Yu is only triggered by actions or Battle Resolution
is what I was asking
ah ok
so it doesnt trigger yus then
Exact scenario, opponent has Kitsu Nishi, that has yu trigger make an ancesstor, I have desperate ground, at end of round I lose 3 personalities due to battle resolution, I chose to target and kill 3 of his personalities, does the Kitsu Nishi trigger on him losing 3 personalities, or because were past the "battle resolution step" does he not get too
the yu isnt an action
so it doesnt trigger yus
which is what we thought
Oh also... probably an easy answer here, but if a created card is returned to the owner's hand, what happens?
Just want to make sure nothing funky is going on
If I recall right it dissapears. I think I Has duch situation with Kaizen way back then when he played mishime control
Yeah we had a situation with the created orochi from sasada and then it getting returned back to hand. I just assumed it died.
Same with created personality tokens
When created cards leave play, they are banished
I just want to make sure that there isnt some weird rule caveat about created cards not ever being in the hand and therefor cant be targeted for hand returns or something
@Brook Cunningham Does Yu trigger at battle resolution on ties?
Or anyone
tournie game happening
From the Onyx Rules Datasheet: "Before a card with the Yu trait is destroyed by another player’s action during battle, or during resolution, resolve the Yu effect." So, yes.
ok thanks
So, why would that matter?
Yamadera?
Not sure what you are asking
I was just wondering if it effected on ties or if it required you lose
I mean, generally speaking it shouldn't matter in ties as you're all dying anyways
oh there are effects that matter
lol
just dont want to share what is in my deck
but ya
This is a good example of one that would matter.
Sure, same with Hida Yamadera, I get it.
Eh, I think your argument of "everyone is dead" applies to yamadera.
since he has to target someone to destroy
The idea is that the Yu puts him on top of my deck instead of dying tho
I guess since there is a ; in there
