Hi, after dark ring of air bows my Higaru, my False Shikei straightens. My opponent says he can use his Tao of Kokujin as a response to discarding dark ring to bow Shikei after he straightens. It seems very clear to me that the response has to occur before the discard step (and Shikei straightens at the discard step) so my opponent cannot respond to bow False Shikei after he straightens from discard of dark ring. Please let me know if I am correct?
It punishes your opponent for using actions that target your cards

Long story short
Brook Cunningham (rules official), 6 November 2024 01:00
The triggering action has to be another player's and target one of your cards. It also has to be from, or also target, a card in that player's unit. If both those are true, a card in that other player's unit (without attachments) of your choice is banished.

what does it mean when it says that player's unit?
Brook Cunningham (rules official), 6 November 2024 01:03 · in reply
I edited my answer a bit, if it helps? The other player's triggering action must always target or come from a card in one of their units. The text you quote then refers to that same unit.

ah yes

ok

the way I was reading it seperated the two segments of the sentence... so "that player's unit" wasn't making sense... but the way you are explaining it... it ALWAYS has to target or come from a card in one of their units, and that unit is the one that gets hit.

Yep. An unfortunately complexity of wording necessitated by the lack of "performing" Rules post Ivory.

hmm

It is a trait whose effects are triggered when the card with it is destroyed by another player's action during a battle, or by battle resolution
Jeremy Sumerlin (rules official), 9 November 2024 01:26
That's pretty much it

Hello! Question about the timing on "Let go, brother" when I'm playing it on the other player's Dynasty. When can I first announce it? I'm assuming right after my opponent plays one action?
Brook Cunningham (rules official), 17 November 2024 20:57 · in reply
Right. It's assumed all actions are taken in a round, with the active player (or Defender if it was a battle) getting the first one. Just, normally only the active player gets any action opportunities in their own Dynasty.

Modest Proposition and a Collision of Wills interaction: I have honesty with Collision and I play it against my opponent. He focuses Modest Proposition and I win the duel. This means the consequences of losing are applied to the winner (they still get the effects of winning). So both personalities are bowed and I can destroy a card in his unit. But does a card in my unit also get destroyed?
Great, that's how we played it. Just checking. So I would choose both cards that get destroyed or would my opponent choose the one in my unit?
Brook Cunningham (rules official), 25 November 2024 01:21 · in reply
Amusingly, as the player of A Collision of Wills, since it doesn't say who picks, by default you'd choose the destroyed card(s) whether you win or lose (absent of MP).
Haha yes this is also how we played it. It seemed weird but it did give me an advantage because I could destroy my bowed Ambitious Scout instead of my bowed Bo of Ritual Blessings so I still had enough force to take the province.

Question about Dangai sensei, it says "your total force is raised by"..... does that mean if your army is all bowed you would still gain that force bonus.
