Moto Ogedei & chi penalty tokens
Hello
The WoE Rulesheet (Token) only treat the "inmmediate effects" of tokens, not the ongoing effects. I think that Ogedei must die the turn before the chi penalty token is created, because the -1C given by the token is not considered an effect at that time.
If I put a -1C token on Ogedei, he will not die because "Any card or action that creates a token is considered just as much the source of all the token’s immediate effects as the token itself is", and Ogedei's Chi is not reduced.
But the inmediate effects end at the end of turn.
No. Stop. The -1C from the token is the exact same effect next turn as it is this turn. It doesn't start over. It's not a new effect next turn. It is still the same effect as the one that began when the token was created, so it still comes from the creating card as well, and does not apply to Ogedei.
The rule on the rulesheet only applies to new or different effects that begin after the token is created, such as moving it to a new Personality.
Questons please help
Broken sword of Lion: If this is brought into play all Lion Clan Personalities you OWN are dishonored! This weapon has other effects as well. What happens when the Broken Sword leaves play? Are the personalities still dishonored? Does the rehonored personalities keep their force bonus?
Being Dishonored is not an on-going effect (Accumulated Rulings, "Effects"). It does not end when the sword leaves play.
Getting a force and chi bonus is an on-going effect. It ends when the sword leaves play.
For purposes of rehonoring what does Involved mean?
It is pretty vague.
Examples of problems: Fields of Glor Slaughter in play my dishonored personality destroys another card. Is that personality involved in the honor from Fields of Glor Slaughter? How about personalities coming into play from Shrine of Humility?
I'll forward these over to Jeff. He'll give you a better explanation than I could.
Can a Crab play use Tani Stronghold ability to have one of his bowed Crab Clan personalities issue a challenge?
No. That would require the Crab Clan personality to Perform an Action that creates a Challenge. You can't do that with bowed Personalities according to the Diamond Edition Rulebook. See the section on Bowing, page 54.
NO CARD IDEAS TO THE LIST

In a message dated 1/6/2005 8:56:16 P.M. Pacific Standard Time, writes:
<<<<> If you are a Unicorn player, and you use Suboto's ability to bring him into play using his ability, may you reduce his cost by 2?
No. I asked Jeff. You only get the Honor Gain / Reduce by 2 Gold option when bringing a Personality into play during the standard process in the Dynasty Phase.>>>>
Just out of curiosity, what are the origins for this ruling? I can find nothing in the rule book or accumulated rulings to support it, and am wondering if it is another case of designer intent.
The fact that you had to ask Jeff tends to make me believe that it was. Perhaps you or Jeff could elucidate on why it was necessary to rule this way.
Consistency. The in-clan discount and the Honor gain potential are present together in all the same situations, as they are alternatives to each other.
Prior to today the ruling was only that you could not gain honor for bringing someone into play outside the Dynasty phase. We already know the two choices are not irrevocably tied, since it is possible to pay full and not gain honor in the Dynasty phase.
In what situation can you buy aligned Personalities in the Dynasty Phase, be forced to pay full price, yet not gain Honor?
The Last Prophecy
Using this card is it legal to name a fate card that is not in your deck?
Yes. If you can't find the named card, you don't have to discard anything.

Comments Below:
The question at the time was dealing with a personality like Toku for Toturi's Army and if you could bring him into play without gaining honor and it was ruled that you could.
[MARTY] That is simply because you could always choose to reduce his Gold Cost by 2 during the Dynasty Phase purchase. He's 0G printed - 2, with a Rulebook-imposed minimum of 0, and you don't gain any honor.

That should be everything new from Monday. If I missed your question, please repost it with the flag [RULES] as part of a clear and distinct Subject Line. I'll get back to you at the first opportunity.
