Your Rules for Friday, Decemeber 31, 2004

Reactions , Prescence, Iyaken

Ok Say I'm attacking during a Raid, I'm completely unopposed, and I bow Iyaken to bow an unopposed personality. Can my opponent Flee the Darkness??

Just in general asking about reactions in battles where you have no units.

I know reacting to cancel something gives you Relevance, but since it really doesn't' satisfy Prescence, is it illegal? or do you even need to worry about either?

Huh?

Reactions don't follow the Rule of Relevance. Check page 81 of the Diamond Edition Rulebook over again: "A player can only take Battle and Open actions associated with the current battle. This is called the Rule of Relevance."

It has nothing to do with Reactions.

Same thing goes for the Rule of Presence as well.

Temples of Gisei Toshi question

Relavent Text: Unique Bow this card: Produce 2 Gold. Limited: Bow this card: Name "Item", "Follower", or "Spell". Look at the top 4 cards of your Fate deck. If any of them is of the named type, you may show it then put it in your hand.

Here is the question, if I find two or more of the named type of card, can I show them and put them in my hand. Example, I Name "Follower", and my deck is loaded with lesser Onis and nothing else except recruiting Drive. I have four lesser onis on top of my deck. Can I show all four followers and place them in my hand.?

Hm. Ugly wording. It uses a singular mode of address ("is," and "it,") mixed with "any" and "four." I'll ask Jeff to clarify this.

That should be everything for Friday, the last day of December. If I missed your question, please repost it with the flag [RULES] as part of your Clear and Distinct subject line. I'll get back to you at the first opportunity.
