Dynasty - entering play
What are the detailed steps for bringing a card into play in the dynasty phase?
As far as I can tell, it's
1) Announce which card you're buying 2) Check HR and other entering play restrictions 3) Pay costs - reduce cost if in clan if you wish 4) Check HR again Now, before step 5, Gain Honor if in clan paying full - this is not its own step because it simply happens "before" the card enters play, and not as an actual step. 5) Put card into play, then entering play effects occur immediately after the personality enters play
You have to meet the Honor Requirement all the way up until the card is in play. If some sort of effect causes you to lose honor after paying costs, but before entering play (say, during the Gain Honor trigger via Dirty Politics / Rhetoric), you'll be barred from bringing into play the Personality you just paid (and tried to gain honor) for.
Saori Questions
Do the effects of losing Saori-created duels stack?
Each use of an ability is a distinct Action. Its effects are distinct from the effects of any other use of the ability. Due to this, the effect do "stack," so to speak. If your Personality under the effect of 3 losses to Doji Saori's duel ability, you must pay 4 gold 3 separate times to end all 3 separate effects as 3 separate Open actions.
Finally, if a player pays 4 Gold to allow a Saori-duelled Personality to unbow, that does not automatically unbow him, right?
Correct. Ending an effect that says, "can not straighten," is not the same thing as creating an effect which says, "straighten."
That should cover everything from Wednesday. If I missed your question, please repost it with the flag [RULES] as part of your Clear and Distinct subject line. I'll get back to you at the first opportunity.
