Blood Calls to Blood
Blood Calls to Blood Reaction: Before a Personality you control in the current battle is destroyed by another player's card or by battle or duel resolution: Target the Personality. Remove him from the game. Permanently increase the strength of the current Province by his printed Force or printed Chi.
The straighforward answer seems to be that it works too late, the effects would resolve but the province falls.
BUT, if you read the rulebook as it is, it seems you 'check' for province destruction after you decide who wins (after you decide to go down the path marked 'If the Attacker's force total exceeds the Defender's'), and then the defenders are destroyed and the province is 'checked' for destruction and destroyed all at the same time.
<SNIP>
a) Nice try, it doesn't work. ALL the result of the combat is decided when comparing army forces the first time.
"Destroying or changing the Forces of cards in the battle after these totals are computed has no effect of the battle's outcome." (Diamond Edition Rulebook, page 82)
Yu doesn't save provinces either.
You could use it during a battle resolution after "chump blocking" to lose your defender but save the province, denying the enemy 2 honor and permanently making the Province harder to crack.
Otaku charges back
If I got Otaku with a follower in a battle, my opponent casts Kuro's Fire with Agasha Chieh and destroys the follower can I use Otaku's ability to kill Chieh ?
Kuro's make consecutive ranged attacks so I think that Chieh must declare each one at the time, resolve it and go on.
The problem is what if Chieh wanted (made) only 1 ranged attack ? Can I use the ability ?
It won't change anything. The destruction is part of resolving the effects of the Kuro's Fire Action. That makes it part of "casting," and any Reactions before / when / after that destruction are still during resolution of the Action's effects, and thus Chieh is still casting. She's still at the battle for Otaku to destroy her.
Of course, killing Chieh doesn't stop the rest of Kuro's Fire's Ranged Attacks from resolving if you have more coming your way.
<Rules> Kan'ok'ticheck Token Questions
When token followers are destroyed can they be brought back into play via Kan'ok'ticheck's ability?
Yes. The Token gets destroyed, and consequently removed from the game (via the Rulebook), and his trait says, "you may return it to play unbowed attached to Kan'ok'ticheck."
He says nothing about the Token needing to be in a Discard Pile, be targetable, or even remain in the game. Following his instructions verbatim causes no conflicts.
City of Remembrance
The first line of City of Remembrance can kind of be read in two ways: Unaligned Nonhuman and Phoenix Clan Nonhuman Shugenja you own cost 2 less Gold.
Does this mean that Unaligned Nonhuman personalities have to shugenja? In other words, is this an additional moddifier to Shugenja, or do they just have to be Unaligned Nonhuman?
They must be Unaligned Nonhuman Shugenja or Phoenix Clan Nonhuman Shugenja. City of Remembrance does nothing for non-Shugenja.
Savagery of the Moto again
I can't understand this card even knowing the new rules. Could you say what should I do, please?
I have a region A, at my province. My opponet has a region B, and I attack it. Then I use Savagery and I switch both regions from the provinces. I destroy the province. So what happens if I am a player of the Kholl Wall? Do I get my region back or do I just stay with the region B?
You don't get your Region back. It is in the Discard Pile. It can't be moved back from the other province (undoing Savagery of the Moto's effect) because that province is gone.
And when can I use the abilities of the region? I can't use the region, but if the region B were a Tidal Land Bridge should I still continuing putting its tokens?
You can't use abilities of Regions you don't control, and Savagery of the Moto does not change controllers. Traits will still function, but keep in mind that you aren't the card's controller, even if it is on your Province.
Ah, and what happens if the ability is not an action on the card? Then can I use it?
Abilities, by definition, have to be Actions. I don't understand this question. You can't use that region to pay costs of the abilities of your other, if that's what you are asking - you still don't control the Region.
That should cover everything for Monday the 20th. If I missed your question, please repost it with the flag [RULES] as part of your Clear and Distinct subject line. I'll get back to you at the first opportunity.
