2 Questions Concerning Senpet Scimitar

Okay, here's the situation. I have a dishonored Hida Daizu with a Senpet Scimitar in play in a battle where he is opposed. I play Deathseeker's Oath on him.

Question 1: At the moment, Hida Daizu is unarguably at 10 force. (4F +4 from Senpet Scimitar, +1 from Deathseeker's Oath, +1 more because DSOath is increased by one due to Senpet Scimitar.) However, how long does that last? Does Daizu become 9 force again once he is no longer opposed?

Yes. The duration of the increase is, "While opposed." If you cease to be oppsed, the duration expires.

If Daizu becomes opposed again, does he then become 10 force?

No. That effect already expired.

You'd need to receive a Force Bonus to trigger the effect again.

Question 2: Beefy Daizu challeges said opposing personality to a Hitokage duel of force. Since focused cards count as stat bonuses, does each card I focus give Daizu 1 more force?

The Force Bonus each Focus grants is increased by 1. So they go from being (Secret Number) to (Secret Number + 1).

Rules Question - Targets leaving and reentering play in mid-play

Hey folks,

I'm forwarding along a reply from Jeff addressing some of those issues about Feign Death and targeted effects interacting with destruction along the lines of Suiteiru no Oni or Kokujin's Daisho. I think Jeff answers the question pretty clearly.

Rules Question - Targets leaving and reentering play in mid-play

I've got an outstanding question about what happens if a designated target for an effect is destroyed in the course of paying a cost but immediately re-enters play via Feign Death before the targeted effect tries to resolve.

Examining the situation precisely, the target did become invalid. Yes, it became valid again, but that is irrelevant. There will be no effects on that target.

Transferring followers, spells and items

I attach a fate card (be it a follower, spell or item) to a personality. Can I move that card later on to another personality (targeting restrictions etc observed)? Even in the same turn I attached the card? What is the cost for doing so?

During the Action Phase, the Active Player has 3 special Limited Actions he can take to Attach Cards from his Fate Hand to Personalities he controls, Lobby for the Imperial Favor, and Move Cards between two Personalities he controls.

You can find the details about moving cards between two Personalities in the Diamond Edition Rulebook, page 77.

If you still have questions after going over that section, drop me another email and I'll try to clear up whatever part of that passage you're having trouble with.

That looks like everything from Tuesday. If I missed your question, please repost it with the flag [RULES] contained in a clear subject line and I'll get to it at the first opportunity.

Thanks folks,
