Ichiro's Yumi
Lets say I have Nobumoto Exp (a bushi) with an Ichiro's Yumi attached, and I'm in battle. My opponent has a 6 force follower attached to a 3 force personality.
#1 I can target the personality with the Yumi's ability, but I can not make the ranged 0 attack because he is not a legal target. (He has followers attached.)
Correct
#2 I can target the follower with the Yumi, reduced its force from 6 to 3, and then shoot the follower with the ranged zero, react with Tsuruchi tech to raise the ranged attack to 3 and kill the follower, allowing me to shoot the personality with Nobumoto on my next action.
Correct, assuming Nobumoto is still here in one piece by your next action. ;)
#3 I can target the follower with the Yumi, reduced its force from 6 to 3, and then shoot the follower with a ranged 4 attack by combining the yumi's ranged 0 and Nobumoto's ranged 4.
This last one won't fly. Ichiro's Yumi's Ranged Attack just won't combine with anything under the normal rules for combining Ranged Attacks. You'd need to declare the combined Ranged Attack at the beginning of the Ichiro's Yumi action, and you just can't. You don't decide whether or not to produce a Ranged Attack with the Yumi until you've already resolved the first effect (-3F) and you resolve the check for a valid target. By that time, it is too late to combine it with Nobumoto's Ranged Attack.
The timing of the two different Ranged Attacks just doesn't work out.
Akodo Ieshige and Relentless Assault
Will Ieshige bow if I target him with relentless assult with my personality with Yu 3 or it will not affect him due to his trait to gain 1 force?
If you play "Relentless Assault" against a unit lead by a 3F Akodo Ieshige, Ieshige's trait will trigger before the effects of the Relentless Assault resolve. Consequently, when you try to apply Fear 3 to Ieshige as if he were a follower, you'll be comparing Fear 3 vs. 4 Force, and Ieshige won't bow.
Question about singular and contested holding.
Well, about stealing a singular you have. Well, if I remember well : Let's suppose you have a Noh Theater Troop in play, and you ContestHolding the NTT of your opponent, and win the duel. Then, he keeps his NTT, but, whenever yours leaves play for any reason, then you immediatly take control of the one of your opponent... Well, I'm sure I've read that somewhere ;)\
Not quite. The ruling you are thinking about is in the Accumulated Rulings, but it only references the RETURN of cards belonging to another player when an effect that gives you control over them expires.
If I were to steal your Shrine to Benten for two turns, and you brought out another Shrine to Benten before my effect expired, when my effect expired, I'd be unable to return control to you. As soon as you could legally control the copy of Shrine to Benten I stole, it would be returned to you.
If, however, I attempt to gain control of a card I can not control (due to the Singular or "will not join" traits) the "gain control" effect is merely negated. It does not "wait around" for a time when the control becomes legal.
That looks like everything from Sunday, May 2, 2004 that wasn't taken care of in-thread somewhere. If I missed your question from that day, please repost it with the flag [RULES] in the subject line and I'll get back to you at the first opportunity. Thank you.
