Q: Nemuranai Arms
Nemuranai Arms Limited: Permanently give a weapon or armor the ability "Battle: Bow one of your Shugenja to give this Item +3F/+3C."
I play three copies of this card on a weapon. Do I need to bow three shugenja to give the weapon +9/+9, or just one?
Three -- the same as if you had played only one Nemuranai Arms.
Dirty Politics and Shame continued
Asking for one of the players in my group. I got the wrong answer the last time so I just forwarding.
ok if dirty politics happens before seppuku, what about imperial messenger? Can you use that to up the honor loss and then dirty politics before they seppuku?
No. Imperial Messenger doesn't change any timing. Seppuku happens first (at the targeting of Shame). If seppuku is not done, Imperial Messenger happens next (immediately before playing Shame), then the honor loss of 14 happens.
Tracking Rounds
Is it allowable to use a d20 or another set of dice to keep track of what round you are on during a tournament?
Technically, no. Only Family Honor and army Force.
Stone Breaker question.
Can you bow multiple Chuda Agents and permanently reduce the Chi of The Stone Breaker by 2 (for each one) to produce 3 Gold, since it doesn't die from having 0 Chi?
When you need to lose Chi (or any other stat) to pay a cost, the cost is not paid unless the current value for that stat drops by the entire required amount. Since no stats on a Personality can go below 0 except Honor Requirement [DE p. 62], a Personality with less than 2 Chi cannot be used with a Chuda Agent. That includes the Stone Breaker.
Will the Stone Breaker have to overcome the negative chi amount if you give it a chi boost, if for some reason it comes up? (Say, if it's attacking the Dark Path of Shadow) Or does it end up being capped at a minimum of 0?
Both. Its final Chi cannot drop below 0, but excess penalties need to be compenstated for by bonuses until the total can be more than 0.
about regions
what's happened when i reveal a region not during event phase (for example, i react with shogun's barrack during dynasty phase and reveal a region face up)? I bring it into play ? I discard it? I let it in the province without refilling it?...
They work the same way Events do. Nothing happens immediately. You may discard it during your Dynasty Phase, like any other face-up Dynasty card, after you have fully finished purchasing Dynasty cards. If it is still in your Province during your next Events Phase, it resolves at the exact same time it would have if it were still face-down.
Bonus and penaltys rule book page 62
The question came up today about Chuda Agent.
The limit of setting it back to zero happens after the penalty gets applied, so can you: 1) Attempt to use chuda agent to produce gold. 2) start paying costs with a 1 chi personality. 3) The personality goes to -1 chi 4) The chi value gets limited to 0 chi 5) the gold production fizzles since the reduction wasn't 2 chi and didn't provide the full cost of the Chuda Agent (but the person still dies because costs can't be repaid)
I would say that you can't deliberately try and fail to pay the cost with someone who doesn't have enough Chi.
Agasha Seruma, Chuda Agent, Shrine of Humility & MGC
Hello everybody,
Got a couple of questions:
I have an Agasha Seruma in play, use Chuda Agent to drop her Chi to zero. She goes to the discard pile. I now use MGC to put her back onto my Shrine of Humilty. What happens if I bring her out?
1) What triggers first? Her Reaction, the Chi death or the bowing of Shrine of Humility?
She enters play bowed, then dies. She can't use her Reaction.
2) Do I gain 2 or 4 honor?
4 if you pay her full price: 2 from her Personal Honor, 2 from the Shrine.
Keen eye versus Dismissed (Jeff)
Jeff, I heard there was a ruling that said Keen Eye could cancel Dismissed.
Relavent text: Keen Eye Reaction: Negate the effects of a Reaction taken by another player during a challenge or duel involving one of your Personalities. Draw a Fate card
Dismissed: Political Reaction: Bow one of your Courtiers to cancel a Political Limited action. Political Reaction: Bow one of your Courtiers to negate a Challenge during the Action Phase.
I would think that during a duel is only when Keen Eye could stop a reaction.
During a duel or challenge. [card text]
Dismissed is played as soon as the challenge happens. That's still "during" it.
