Greetings,
scattered questions
If Barren Fields resolves against an opponent who has no unbowed gold-producing holdings (whether Attacker or Defender), does that opponent end up having to bow all of his or her cards at the battle?
Yes.
What if, for some reason, that opponent has no holdings in play? Does he or she still have to bow everything upon the terrain's resolution?
Yes.
Player A resolves the Celestial Imbalance event, and then challenges Player B's personality to a duel. Both players then focus normally. As a reaction after focus cards are revealed, Player B then plays Judgement of Toshiken in an effort to stop Celestial Imbalance's effect during the duel. Does this work?
Yes ("printed focus values" - Judgment of Toshiken card text).
Player A attacks one of Player B's provinces with Ide Sadanobu, and attacks another province with Moto Latomu. Latomu has a Dai-kyu attached. Player A uses Northern Provinces of the Moto to switch Latomu and Sadanobu, reacting to the movement with Latomu's ranged attack. Can Latomu then combine his ranged attack with that of his Dai-kyu?
No; combining is only an option when Ranged Attacks are made as a Battle action (Gold Edition rulebook, pg. 63).
Walking the way + Ring of Air
I draw a Walking the Way at any point during the game. Now on my turn, I walk the way for a walking the way, then walk for the 3rd copy, then walk for the Ring of AIr. Can I now play Air b/c I have satisifed the criteria, 3 Spells?
Yes.
diamond checklist?
Does anyone have a complete ceck list of the dimaond edition set?

Honor's Lesson Dojo
HLD is a reaction that enables you to play another battle or open action. Now a reaction does not require Presence or Relevence to be met. So does this mean that HLD effectively allows you to circumvent the Presence and Relevance rules to play an action that you would not ordinarily be able to play?
No, it doesn't. No text explicitly overrirdes those rules, so they're still in force.
