Akodo Hakuseki question
If Akodo Hakuseki has an ancestor attached, does this mean he gets to negate Torrential rain and Entrapping Terrain?
No. These end the battle.
Regions Help
If i attack shadowlands marsh and destroy as a battle action does the -2f still stay in effect or go away? When does the effect of such regions take effect and end. Ex. Moat, Temple of new Tao, Shadowlands Marsh. Thanks Again
what is considered Printed
Can i get a detailed explaination of what is considered printed? Copying? Switching?
I answered this last week, I thought.
What is printed?
Can i get a detailed explaination of what is considered printed?
"Printed" means printed, on the card, in ink. Effects that add or remove traits or that modify stats do not change the printed traits and stats of a card unless they explicitly say so.
Copy?
Copying a stat means setting its new current value to the current value of some other stat. If your current total Force is 3 and I copy it, my current total Force becomes 3 as well. And it really is my new grand total -- I do not add any of my current bonuses to it again.
Switching?
Switching is two simultaneous copies.
question for Jeff
Ikoma Tsanuri (Experienced) Reads, "Ikoma Tsanuri 5F/4C 10HR 14G 4PH Lion Clan Champion. Samurai. Tactician. Double Chi. Experienced. Unique. Ikoma Tsanuri will only join a Lion player. Ignore all effects of Terrains and Regions while Ikoma Tsanuri is in this army. Battle: Once per battle in which Ikoma Tsanuri is in the defending army, target an opposing Personality, who is sent home bowed. This is considered a use of the Imperial Favor." [MRP, Pearl Edition] Cannot be assigned to attack a Clan Heartland because her trait does not apply until she's in the battle. [DW, 17 October 1997]
Jon has Clan Heartland on province A and another province B.
Mike attacks province B with kitsu motso and Ikoma Tsanuri XP and resolves province B
Can Mike play sup Tac on Motso so he moves to province A (the one with clan heartland attached)? Can Mike play sup Tac on Tsanuri so she moves to province A?
Yes. Tsanuri suppresses the effects of all Terrains and Regions while she is in the current battle, so she can move into the Clan Heartland Province from a different one when the different one is the current one.
Rules questions
Can I attach a Traveling Ronin to someone on whom I played Inner Fire.
No. Attaching a Follower from your hand to one of your Personalities targets the Personality. [GE 49]
Jeff: Question on Trusted Counsel
I have been playing outside my country for a few days and a lot of people played this card:
Trusted Counsel Battle: You may draw up to 3 Fate Cards from your deck. For each card drawn, your opponent in this battle may either draw one Fate Cards or give a 3F bonus to one Personality in this battle.
They used it when they have a unit in a battle, and his opponent had no units at the battle.
The first time they played, I tried to draw three cards they said I cannot. They said there was a ruling about it, and i let them. I have now checked but i can' t find that rule.
And also, does it satisfy relevance if it no opposing units? Because: It does not come form a card or token in the battle It does not move or create a card in the battle dosen“t target card, tokens , provinces or the battle.
An dit doesnt say opposing, just opponent.
Perhaps I am thinking too much.
If it is like they said, can you explain, please?
Trusted Council is like Mushin: it implicitly breaks the Rule of Relevance because it would never be legal to play it otherwise.
Trusted Council still needs to follow the Rule of Presence, though...but that rule only governs whether its player can play it in the first place. The Rule of Presence does not apply to his opponent -- his opponent is not taking any actions.
And since Trusted Council refers to "your opponent", that will always be the Attacker or the Defender, whether he has units there or not.
You could have drawn cards. (You could also have given +3F to one of the Personalities attacking you. Probably not wise, but still legal.)
2 questions [JEFF]
1) Can Chithith really target himself if he is initially unbowed?
Yes, since he does not say "Bow to straighten a bowed Ratling."
2) If I have the Ruins of Otosan-Uchi region attached to a Province, and I flip another region face-up in the same Province, can I decide not to toss the new region long enough to use the Ruins to nuke a region and disappear? If so, can I then hold the new region in the Province until next round and attach it?
Regions that cannot enter play do not get automatically discarded. If you want to get rid of them and make way for another card, you normally have to wait for your Dynasty Phase. If you decide to keep the Region in the Province instead, it can come into play at the end of any subsequent Events Phase if it's still in the Province and attaching it is legal.
By the way, notice how you can use Ruins of Otosan-Uchi to destroy itself, since targets are chosen before costs are paid.
rule question
Can I play accept with honor as a reaction to an unrefusable duel?
Sure. An unrefusable challenge is still a challenge.
Refusing I. Challenge
Jeff, I just wanted to verify wether or not refusing an I. Challenge is considered taking an action that causes you an honor loss or not?
Refusing an Iaijutsu Challenge is not a Limited, Open, Battle, or Reaction action.
In other words if I refuse an I. Challenge do my Lesser Shrines Blow up?
No.
Forgoten Tomb
If I use forgoten tomb with spawning grounds, to bring a 0f printed force gobling into play, I need to way one turn, because the goblin is 1F for effects of the tomb, right?
Yes. The MRP of the Spawning Grounds affects all cards you "own". That's all cards that started the game in your deck, no matter where they are right now. [GE p. 75]
Rules Question
Are Farmlands considered Farms?
No. You can't use a piece of a word as another word.
