A rules digest from the L5R CCG rules team, copied from the mailing list archive for Oracle of the Void. The askers' names are left out. Rulings are as they stood on this date; later rulings, the rulebooks and the Rules Archive may differ.
Isawa's Last Wish/Daigotsu
So if a player using Daigotsu uses Isawa's Last Wish on me and I take out his wind (Daigotsu) would the traits of the card still have an effect?
No.

More importantly, are you saying the game is fixed when there will be at least 1, if not 2, expansions before GenCon?
The designers right now are tweaking cards primarily for Diamond, not Gold. Daigotsu is an excellent example of this.
You're making unfounded deductions and coming to incorrect conclusions. Daigotsu would have happened one way or the other, as something that grew out of storyline developments and the wishes of the players.
Daigotsu
If a player is using the daigotsu wind, everone completely ignores that players actual family honor for lobbying attempts correct?
If and ONLY if that player has the highest total printed Personality Force. [card text] Otherwise his real Family Honor is used.
Rules Q
Can a personality be granted more than one fear ability?
Yes.
Example I use Votagi to win a duel and I play feared duelist, thus he gains a seperate fear ability in addition to retaining his printed fear, correct?
Correct.
Now I use the same personality with an effect that reacts to the presence of a fear ability, can I select either abilities value?
Yes.
Ie, I later want to use private dojo on that same Votagi may I select either the fear 3, or fear 4? or am I somehow restricted to use of only one of the paricular abilities?
Private Dojo specifically says to use "one of his or her non-variable Fear strengths". It has the consideration for multiple Fear abilities built-in.
Alternately if an untargeted action, such as a terrain were to resovle that gives all cards a force bonus equal to their fear, would that same Votagi gain 3f, 4f or 7f ? since has two seperate fear abilities. (i'm not sure if the above could even possibly occur with exsisting cards, but wanted to test the logic)
If the card just said "by his or her Fear strength", it would be poorly worded and would have to be clarified whether it used the total or only one of them (and if the latter, which one).
If he is in the same army as Kyofu would he be capable of 4 fear effects total correct? (Two fear3 and two fear 4)
Correct.

I think that part of the problem with the guidelines for tainting/corruption is that they're one-sided; it's easy to find a way to make a clan more corrupt, but there's no simple, reciprocal way to purify it.
Wrong: play the Clan uncorrupt. Simple. Reciprocal.
You forgot "...and Win."
No, sir. I did not.

Let me clarify, then: Is there a way to play that counts as "extra-pure" in the same way playing Shadowlands counts as tainted or corrupt?
It all depends on what catches the writers' eyes. That being said, there is no way standard way to play "extra-corrupt".
Week of the Ratling
Does anyone know the official dates for the Week of the Ratling?
