So if my opponent has the Dark Ring of the Void, and I play my own Dark Ring of the Void, his Dark Ring gets discarded?
That's what the card says. The Dark Ring of the Void is "*a* Ring of the Void".
Seppun Temples
Still, I'm curious, so maybe we can put this into the Jeff queue for after the set is released. Is the attachment considered to be a normal rulebook-based attach-from-hand action, simply played out of turn, or is more like an extension of the act of bringing a the personality into play?
It's an effect of the Seppun Temples card.
Seppeku question
As you're bringing Voitagi (or other samuri who causes you an honour loss as you use an ability or bring them out) out, can you seppeku him in order to reduce the honour loss of bringing him out to zero?
No, because he's not taking an action, being targeted by an action, or making a decision. [GE p. 65] (Point of Information: this would reduce the loss to 1, not 0, if it were allowed.)
You can, however, play Honorable Seppuku to reduce it to 0 and gain 0 (his Personal Honor).
Can you seppuku your personalities in order to prevent them becoming dshonoured from Imperial Funeral? (yes, I do know you could just bow them)
Yes, because that's making a decision. Each one would die honorably and result in only a 1-point loss.
Rule of Relevance Question - JEFF
I have a question that I am pretty sure of the answer for...but not 100%
If you are playing Chithith and he is in a battle, can you bow him in the battle to straighten a Rat in your fief?
I think you couldn't because of relevance, but I am not positive.
Well, let's read that rule! GE rulebook, page 53:
] * A player can take only actions associated with the current ] battle. This is called the Rule of Relevance. In particular, the ] action needs to satisfy at least one of the following conditions: ] ] o It comes from a card or token at the battle. ] o It moves or creates a card or token in the battle. ] o It targets or directly affects a card or token in the battle, ] the Province under attack, or the battle itself. ] o It is reacting to a card or token leaving the battle (including ] leaving play from the battle).
The action falls squarely into the first condition. It's Relevant. Since you also have Presence, it's legal.
Question about cards that give abilities.
The easiest way for me to ask this question is by an example.
Since Tsuruchi Hiro gives his followers without a ranged attack "Battle: Bow for a Range 1 attack" does this count as being printed on their card?
It is on the card, but, contrary to the Gold Edition rulebook, it's not PRINTED on the card. This errata, and is in both the current FAQ and the upcoming Fall of Otosan Uchi rulesheet.
1000 Years of Darkness
Is the set still avialable at AEG?
Yes.
Warrens of the Nezumi and The Seppun Temples
Here's something that just occured to me...
The Seppun Temples lowers the costs of all followers by 4, to a minimum of 1, when you bring a personality into play from it and attach followers from your hand. The Warrens of the Nezumi lowers the cost of all non-personality ratling cards by 1. Does that mean that for followers attaching to the Seppun Temples peep which cost 5G or less are free for Warrens players?
No. The Warrens discount is applied as soon as the game begins. The Seppun Temples discount does not apply until you use its effect. You can't take the Temples reduction first.
Kyuden Agasha and Scroll Cache Question
If I have Kyuden Agasha and I play Scroll Cache, Wich is the cost reduction effect that I have to use?
Like the Warrens, the discount on Spells from Kyuden Agasha starts as soon as the game begins, and is not optional. Since it's a cost reduction and it's already in effect when you play Scroll Cache, Cache does not give you any further reduction.
Do I stack both.
You never get to stack Scroll Cache's cost reduction with any other reduction. [card text]
