Deck Corruption - Shadowlands style [Ray/Rich]
It takes 4 cards in your deck with the Shadowlands trait to make your deck fully Shadowlands Corrupt.
Because The Porcelain Mask of Fu Leng and the Armor of Shadows (Exp.) both make another card (their attached personality) Shadowlands as well, would having these two cards in the deck count as corrupt since they really make 4 Shadowlands cards in practice?
That's up to the story team member who hears about it.
Rules for 21 June 2002 / west michigan
Greetings,
if i play open arms on a person as i bring them into play, does the raise to the honor required for victory affect my opponent too or just me?
Just you. This is a tentative ruling, because I'm reading between the lines on the card text. To support my interpretation, in Jeff's rulings post dated 5 April 2002:
Sorry, Zen. It applies to the whole game. This is a REVERSAL.
ruling request:fight to the Setting Sun-Rallying Cry
Here's one I thought of (while building a deck, natch...)
Relevant Card texts:
Fight to the Setting Sun Reaction: Play this card when a Resolution Segment in which you had units ends. All units in the battle will bow as if they were attacking Units.
Rallying Cry Reaction: Play this card after a Resolution Segment. Your units in the battle do not become bowed by the combat.
Now, I'm pretty sure that it is as straightforward as it looks, but I want to be absolutely sure, so here are a couple of questions:
1. Rallying Cry will prevent bowing, either for the Attacker, or the Defender???
It will prevent bowing of all units in that battle controlled by the person who plays it.
2. To play this, you have to have had units in the battle WHEN it resolved, Not just at any time during the battle?? (thus no Sup Tacs out to save your guy?)
"a Resolution Segment in which you had units". That seems clear to me. Having units in the battle earlier but not at resolution will not let you play FttSS.
3. This CAN NOT be used in reaction to someone playing Rallying Cry at the end of the battle resolution to counter RC's effects?
Correct. By card text, FttSS must be played first.
Honour/Re-Honour Question (JEFF)
A question came up at a game last night, that we couldn't find in the archive or rules. It says in the rules "If one or more Dishonored Personalities are involved in anything that would raise their controllerĂs Family Honor, including a battle or duel victory (but excluding modifying a gain created by other cards), they regain Honorable status instead of raising Family Honor." So, if a dishonoured personality attaches his or her Clan's Celestial Sword (excepting Scorpion, of course), would the personality be re-honoured (being "involved" in an honour gain) and no honour gain occur, or remain dishonoured and the player's family honour increase?
Re-honored Personality and no honor for the Sword.
