Greetings,
Question on Kaneka's Blockade
<forgive references to that other game>
There are other games?
When Kaneka's Blockade resolves, do the discarded cards come from the top of the Fate Deck, or do you go through the deck and find the 6 you want to discard?
Triple A question: "Asked, answered, archived." See http://l5r.alderac.com/rulings . The top only.
Ruling Clarification (JEFF)
Are the terms "in a duel" and "during a duel" different?
Not that I'm aware of.
Order of Effects
[Questions trimmed]
Reju has 3 chi and no other effects. He has an Ambition attached. He challenges Paneki (the rat himself) who has 5 chi. Reju uses the reaction on the Ambition. [Reju] also has a Tetsubo in his arsenal. Upon starting the duel with Paneki, will Reju be at 5 chi or 4 chi?
The Tetsubo's penalty is a trait that is active as soon as the challenge is accepted (see Archive, General Rules, Duels). Ambition's reaction comes after that, setting Reju to 5C.
As for the general question, see Dark Allies rulebook, Page 32: after Ambition's Reaction is used, ongoing bonuses are *not* reapplied.
By the way it's timing rules for continuous effects that depend on each other that's all the rage in That Other Game too nowadays, and they can get really complicated there, so I hope they're a bit simpler in this game so that I can understand them eventually :)
What other game? Nobody will get mad at you for mentioning a title. Buddhist proverb: "Saying 'fire' won't burn your mouth; saying 'water' won't drown you."
Daigotsu- off topic, Dr. Who
Dr. Who's background is revealed??? Who is the Doctor?
More background was revealed as the series progressed. Hence, efforts near the end of the series to suggest new questions about the character (Remembrance of the Daleks, Silver Nemesis).
I think I've now officially run out of my Deputy Rules Guy leeway to discuss off-topic subjects. No more posts to the list on this topic, please. :)
