SOTC Question/Clarification
Do winning players of this tournament (as well as the others) have to turn in a decklist to AEG?
The only mandatory information is the Clan and Wind used by all participants, plus the first place winner's answers to a short multiple choice questionnaire.
---------
Sorry to ask another question that may be readily apparent to everyone, but as a Crab player who won the SOTC tournament, may I fill out the questionnaire or is that reserved only for the Crane players who finish first? Many thanks in advance.
Oops. The questionnaire is only answered if the 1st place winner plays Crane in the tournament.
Daren's Quick Questions (tm)
When an item bows to produce an action, what produces the action, the item or the personality it is attached too?
It depends what you mean by "produce".
If you mean "which card is this Ranged Attack coming from", the answer is "the card it's printed on".
If you mean "which card is performing this action", according to new rules in the upcoming Dark Allies rulebook, the Personality "performs" all actions on attached Items and Spells.
Indirectly, this is a question about the new Shinjo Xushen, and if he can increase the ranged attacks of items he has attached.
The preview text for Xushen uses the term "perform". The tentative ruling would be that his bonus applies to his Items as well.
Quick confirmation and question
If one of my personalities issues a duel via Iaijutsu Art with lower Chi than the person challenged (as per card text), can I play He's Mine as a reaction and move a higher Chi personality into the duel instead?
Yes. He's Mine! is not a redirection. Iaijutsu Art has already been played and is half-way through resolving. You may bring someone into the duel that you could not have targeted in the first place.

Both of Yoritomo Kitao (Experienced)'s effects that apply to Bayushi Aramasu also apply to Yorotimo Aramasu. This is a REVERSAL.
Well, was it really necessary, I mean it is not like the Mantis had a great pool of personality to choose from. Anyway we'll deal with that.
It's the price you pay for having impartial rulings. I don't CARE how much this will help or hurt Mantis Clan players. What matters is what the card says, how other cards that are worded like it work, and what it was supposed to do in the first place -- usually in that order.
Hida Kosho (or Facing Your Devils) Question
Can you use this ability from the fief, supposing you have another unit/s in the battle?
Yes.
The word that confuses me is "challenge". How can a personality challenge someone at the battle without been there? Is it legal?
There is no rule that challenges must be made between opposing Personalities if they happen during an attack. It's legal.
The same happens with Facing your devils.
The answers are the same.
About the fox
Actually I think the important distinction (If I remember right) is that the FACTION is named "Shadowlands Horde" and no card has that trait, they simply have the Shadowlands trait.
Check the AOF rulebook. "Shadowlands", not "Shadowlands Horde", is the name of the Faction. (To be fair, the Gold Edition rulebook disagreed with itself on the issue.) There is simply no word that means "this card is a member of the Shadowlands Faction."

I'm going to make an intent-based ruling that the caster of the Iron Citadel is considered "normally unable to win an honor victory" and unaffected by the event, despite the fact that the inability to win through honor is actually an effect of the spell and not a trait of your new Stronghold.
But refusing to win an honor victory due to a 'Return of Fu-Leng', will not cause that trait to be on your Stronghold, right? So you will still need 10 Honor or a Ring in play when 'Death of the Ki-Rin' has resolved?
Right and right.
